Mrs. Holloway & the Agriscience Academy Scholars Partner with the USDA, US Forest Service, and FAMU to Celebrate Earth Day 2022
Mrs. Holloway and her Agriscience Academy Scholars partnered with Mr. George Montgomery, Jr., USDA Liaison, Ms. Monica Rainge, USDA Deputy Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, Ms. Vonda Richardson, Director of the FAMU Cooperative Extension, Dr. Johnny Grace, III of the U.S. Forest Service, FAMU's College of Agriculture & Food Sciences, and the University Scholarship Program to Celebrate Earth Day 2022. The scholars had the opportunity to plant trees around the FAMU DRS campus, interact with representatives from the USDA, U. S. Forest Service, and FAMU, and engage in various activities to explore, discuss, and support environmental protection. The Earth Day 2022 theme is "Invest in Our Planet."

FAMU DRS Agriscience Academy Salsa Project
Through the generosity of a a $250 mini grant from the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and a matching $250 mini grant from the Leon County Farm Bureau, the Agriscience Academy students have been able to team up with the FAMU DRS Engineering Academy to build and plant a raised-bed salsa garden this semester. This is an ongoing project which demonstrates how collaborations and generous partnerships with community organizations can support our student engagement, achievement, and real-world experiences.


Mrs. Holloway awarded mini-grant for her FAMU DRS Agriscience Academy
December 8, 2020. Congratulations to Mrs. Holloway as she is awarded a $250 mini grant from the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and a matching $250 mini grant from the Leon County Farm Bureau. The Agriscience Academy students plan to plant a raised-bed salsa garden with the awards.
