"Physics with Phones" Program Success

Three FAMU DRS students participated in a summer physics program entitled “Physics with Phones”. The students, Chataji Hankins, Chrystal Norman, and Jordan Webb, each received an $1,800 stipend for completing the program. FAMU DRS is the only High School participating in the program. The program has existed for three years and DRS has participated for the past two years thanks to the collaboration of Dr. Ronald Williams and Mr. Willie H. Williams, FAMU DRS Physics instructor. Last year, 2021, FAMU DRS had four participants who received $1,900 stipends. The sponsor for the program is Ronald Williams, Ph.D., Professor of Physics at Florida A&M University. FAMU DRS Principal, Pink Hightower, Ph.D., said that he was extremely proud of the participating students, and Mr. Williams, and expressed sincere appreciation to Dr. Ronald Williams for including FAMU DRS in this prestigious program.
The program was funded by the US Department of Energy through the Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program titled “Consortium for High Energy Density Science” (grant number DE-NA0003984).   https://youtu.be/y6qrRdAx5aI
