Students and Parents:
 
Each Wednesday I will conduct office hours via Zoom from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.. This is an opportunity for students to collaborate with peers, receive assistance on any assignment they have questions about and to get direct feedback from me in a small group setting.
 
Students please ensure that you are tuning within your allotted conference time as I want to make sure that I am able to reach all who need assistance to the best of my ability during distance learning. I will advise students 24 hours in advance with an invitation to the small group workshop through their FAMU DRS. On workshop day students will join the workshop via Zoom and work with me and a few of their classmates on concepts that are being explored in our class.
 
Small Group Workshops are as follows:
Language Arts: 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Reading: 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Journalism: 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.

Welcome Baby Rattler Families!

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Student(s),

 

Welcome to our class web page! I am Ms. Massaline, the 8th grade Language Arts, MIddle School Reading and HIgh School Journalism Instructor at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University Developmental Research School. I am proud a 6th generation graduate of Florida A&M University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education. I am ecstatic to spend this school year working with you and your child as he/she continues to matriculate.

Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility and I will do my best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this year. However, I cannot do this without the help of you, the parent(s).  We are partners in the learning process. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. 

 In light of all that is occurring within our world, it is my hope that you are remaining safe, in good health and inside as we all work together to combat the spread of COVID-19. On Tuesday, March 24, we will begin our fourth instructional quarter of the year. As we are transitioning to virtual learning for a portion of the quarter, I encourage both students and parents to keep up with our classroom Google Classroom daily, as this will serve as our primary mode of access for content and materials. In addition, please get connected with our Remind 101 and Zoom databases, as they will provide updates from me and an opportunity for both students and parents to schedule conferences with me.

Once again, I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. It truly is a pleasure to have your child in my class!
