Dr. Serena Roberts received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in Educational Technology, from the University of Kansas. Before pursuing her doctorate, she was a high school English and Math teacher in North Dakota, Texas, and Kansas. She has also taught college in Minnesota at Bemidji State University and in Kansas at Butler County Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and the University of Saint Mary. Before joining the faculty at Florida A&M, she helped redesign the curricula of the US Army’s Command and General Staff College and the Singapore Armed Forces’ Officer Cadet School. She was previously the Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator for FAMU Teachers for a New Era, a Carnegie grant, working with the College of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of General Studies to redesign the curricula for pre-service teachers.  She is currently the Director of the Center for Academic Success in the FAMU College of Education.
